Using Clocks

Besides the mission clock, the GM may make use of additional clocks to support narrative play:

  • Project clocks track long personal or party efforts (e.g., taking the Personal Project downtime action). General guidance: 4 beats for modest goals, 6 beats for serious ones, 8 beats for campaign-scale ones.
  • Pressure clocks track a looming situation within a mission. Examples: the cult’s ritual, the rising flood, the garrison’s response. Pressure clocks can either be private (GM-only), or the GM can show a clock to the players whenever the characters could feel the pressure.
